Linda Hageman Waring

I started working at the Hinton Coop Elevator before graduation in 1961 and after graduation I started full time. I met Don Waring there and we were married on June 24, 1962. We built a house in Hinton and still live in the same place although we have remodeled a few times. Our home was the breakfast place after two of our reunions although I don't think I could survive them again! I worked at the Hinton Coop until 1965 and then had our two children. Bill, Michelle, and five grandchildren live in Sioux Center and our daughter Patti and Randy live in Bennington, Nebraska. Granddaughter Brooke lives in Iowa City and Kayla (David) live in Des Moines. We enjoy having them close enough to visit and be involved in their lives. I worked at Hall Grain from 1966 until 1984 and then did all the book work for Wagner Trucking in Merrill. I survived a terrible ammonia accident in 1988 and didn't talk for four months. (Quite the experience and very scary.) After Harlan Wagner died in 1993, I closed up the business for the family and then went to work for Triple D Contracting in Sioux City. In 1999 I had to bite the bullet and learn how to use a computer at work, putting everything on Quick Books. Thought I was too old to learn it but I guess you are never too old to learn! Now I teach everyone else how to use the program. I have tried to retire several times but end up going back to straighten things up, do year-end stuff, etc. I still help out except when we go north to Minnesota fishing in June and August,

I still like to golf and travel although we can't do much as Don had COPD and is oxygen a lot of the time. We were very fortunate to have taken a trip (part cruise and part by train) to Alaska before Don got sick and enjoyed it very much. If any of you get the chance to do it, you will be amazed!

Looking forward to see all of you at the reunion. I hope if any of you have pictures from past reunions that you bring them.
